This pastel painting of "Charlie" was commissioned by Mr & Mrs C. Gillett of Snettisham in Norfolk. They have kindly consented to it being shown on this website.

The west highland terrier, or westie as it commonly known is a very popular breed of dog because of its nature.

It responds well to love and gentleness, and as with most terriers, harsh training methods tend to be met with stubbornness.

Charlie and his breed are good with children, the elderly and the disabled.

It was a pleasure to paint him as he is full of character!
