St Mary’s Church, Snettisham
Catalogue Number: PN002
A splendid building which can be seen from afar because of it beautiful spire. Norfolk boasts hundreds of churches, but in my view, none is more eye catching than this one. Some would have you believe that it has ghosts ...a certain Henry Barnard and perhaps Robert Cobb. It involved a lady form London, Mrs Goodeve ... intriguing. Unusually perhaps, St Mary’s church was also a victim of the German Navy’s first airship raids on the United Kingdom on 19-20th January 1915, when a Zeppelin bombed Snettisham.
This photograph was taken from the front of the church.
